Don is a partner at Goehring, Rutter & Boehm and practices within the firm’s School and Municipal Law and Real Estate Law Groups.
Formerly associate counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Don is broadly experienced in all areas of education law, particularly special education and student rights. He currently counsels clients in all areas of federal and state special education law (IDEA and state law) including issues involving the evaluation, re-evaluation, placement, IEP development, behavior plan development, transportation, discipline, records confidentiality, and provision of assistive technologies and nonacademic services to disabled youth.
He currently serves as appointed solicitor to the Woodland Hills and Montour School Districts, as well as the Adams and Findlay Township Zoning Hearing Boards.
Don is a member of the Pennsylvania, Allegheny County and Butler County Bar Associations, including an active membership in the Allegheny County Bar Municipal and School Solicitors Association and Real Estate Section.
A magna cum laude graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Don graduated with a B.S. in Political Science. Continuing his education at the Duquesne University School of Law, he received his Juris Doctor in 1986.
