The first Litigation Management Institute (LMI), as part of The Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, was hosted by Columbia Law School in New York from Oct. 28 – 30, 2011.
Students completed nearly 30 hours of pre-course reading, 18 hours of in-class instruction and nearly 12 hours of group project work. Given the rigorous nature of the program, the CLM was pleased to have 88 percent of participants successfully complete the program.
The LMI is the first program specifically designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business of litigation management. The program consists of nine courses taught by executives with extensive industry experience.
The courses included:
Jaime N. Doherty, Esquire, is a member of the firm's Litigation Group. Her practice areas include commercial and construction litigation, the firm’s defense of product liability and toxic tort claims, as well as civil rights, insurance defense and coverage disputes. Jaime’s clients include corporations, insurance companies, title agencies, municipalities, professional and recreational associations, school districts, private developers, and regional contractors and subcontractors. She has also worked on behalf of design professionals and sureties.
