On May 16, 2011, Mandi will present at the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation’s 32nd Annual Institute at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa in Farmington, PA.
The topic, “Leasing from Estates and Trusts: Who May Do What?” will provide a survey of statutes and case law related to leasing from estates, trusts and other artificial entities in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, addressing common issues such as: What statutory authority or limitations exist? Does a trustee’s power to buy or sell include the power to lease? Where must a legal action involving a lease from a trust or estate be filed?
Mandi is active in the firm’s School and Municipal Law and Litigation Groups, with a focus on appellate practice. In the area of oil and gas, Mandi represents companies in various litigation matters, property owners in the negotiation of leases and the firm’s municipal clients in zoning and preemption issues. In 2010, Mandi was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star in the area of appellate practice.
