Megan M. Turnbull presents at the Local Government Academy's Blight Fight Program

On Friday, June 14, Megan M. Turnbull presented as part of a three-day training series on New Tools in the Blight Fight. The segment, "Municipal Tools for Getting the Hard to Collect Money," addressed how to best collect delinquent real estate taxes and municipal claims. Although some of the steps are technical and complicated, they are also imperative for the "bottom line" of a municipality. Megan provided methods/options available to municipalities seeking to collect these amounts.

The event is the result of a partnership between the Local Government Academy, Sustainable Pittsburgh, the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania and the Mon Valley Progress Council.

Megan Turnbull represents municipalities and schools in all matters of organization, finance, legal compliance, labor and employment litigation. She serves as a lead attorney in the firm's delinquent tax practice where she supervises a team of paralegals and associates in the day-to-day practice of collection litigation. She also serves as Solicitor to the Boroughs of Conway, Avalon and Leetsdale, as well as the Kennedy Township Uniform Construction Code Appellate Board.
