On October 5, 2011, Megan, an attorney at Goehring, Rutter & Boehm, will speak at the National Business Institute’s Seminar, “Student Privacy: The Top Hot Button Legal Issues.”
Megan’s topic, “Drug Testing of Students” will address the methods of drug testing, with particular emphasis on student athletes, participants in extracurricular activities and those that drive to school. Megan will also discuss the mandatory testing methods of students that are under the influence and the use of the results for disciplinary, therapeutic and/or law enforcement purposes.
Megan is a member of the firm’s School and Municipal Law Group and offers a diverse set of school focused skills. She has handled a wide swath of students’ issues; including discipline, transportation, special education and medication. She is also experienced in analyzing situations arising under the McKinney Vento and Fostering Connections Acts and developing actions plans. In addition, Megan serves as a local agency law specialist in the employment setting and a resource for collective bargaining and employee benefits.
